MUSCULOSKELETAL
THERAPIES
If you fall in the group of 100 million Americans dealing with daily chronic pain, it may feel as though you’ll never live a full and active life.
There are multiple reasons why patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions don’t always receive the best results. Often, there is a lack of awareness of these conditions’ impact since they are generally nonfatal and have the most significant impact as people age.
To make matters worse, people with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular pain often put off seeing a doctor and don’t always follow guidelines because they fear treatments could worsen their condition.
At Southwellness, we take a comprehensive approach to helping find creative solutions for patients with pain.

How Do We Treat
Musculoskeletal
Problems?
Once we determine the source of your pain, we come up with a multifaceted plan that may include acoustic shockwave, injections, regenerative medical interventions, specialists, advanced imaging, medications and supplements.
We may also prescribe lifestyle changes such as exercises or diet plans, (or send you to a physical therapist) to help restore movement, strength, and function to your body to provide long term healing.
Modalities
Beyond simple procedures, we use and typically propose a combined approach. This includes assessing your micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, cofactors, and amino acids), hormones, and diet.
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy PiezoWave²
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy, uses concentrated soundwave energy to heal, reduce pain, release triggers, and address ligament and tendon damage, among other things for treating specific ailments approved by the FDA. It has remarkable results when used in various settings.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
We also use several other nonsurgical methods, such as biological regeneration products. Platelet-rich plasma treatment, for example, is a regenerative technique that may enhance the natural growth factors your body utilizes to heal tissue.
PRP has shown promise in treating chronic and acute musculoskeletal injuries affecting ligaments, tendons, muscles, and joints.
PRP injections may help:
• Increase your strength
• Strengthen your balance and coordination
• Restore mobility by increasing flexibility and range of motion
• Reduce swelling and pain
• Repair cartilage
• Accelerate post-surgical healing
